Name: Chrissy
Adoption Fee: $150

Chrissy is finally loving an indoor life that she had been longing for. You see she had been living outside all her life in the rain, snow, freezing cold weather, searching for food and just trying to survive. She came into rescue very scared, skinny and hungry. With a lot of love, patience and time, she has become a very loving affectionate fur baby. From day 1 she has used the litter box so their has been no issues.. She loves her food, I always leave her hard food out all day and give her a can of soft food in the morning and one at night (that is to just keep her gaining her weight.). when she hears that can open she will come running. Oh and she loves her special treats.. She absolutely loves her attention. She loves to be petted and you can even pick her up to hear all that purring.. Oh and you will have a shadow because she will follow you all over the house until she is tired and then she will find a comfy spot and relax. For the most part she is pretty lazy and just enjoys being inside. She loves to sit by a window and watch the world go by.. She has figured out what a toy is and once in awhile you may see her toss a ball around.. She is fine around other cats and kittens. She is not too fond of dogs but will leave them alone as long as they leave her alone.. She's not too amused by kids, she will just hide from them. Older children may be okay as long as they are calm. Chrissy has turned into a beautiful loving cat that just wants love and a family but it may take time for her to adjust to a new surrounding and new people, so please be patient, give her time, love and you will have her purring and giving you nothing but love and a friend forever.

Upon arrival I did test positive for FIV but please don't let that deter you. I'm a sweet guy and I have 3 reasons why you should adopt me:

  1. Humans cannot catch FIV: It is exclusively a feline virus.
  2. Cats can only spread it to other cats by blood: This means a deep, deep bite down to the gums or a very deep scratch down to the claw cuticle. Playful wrestling will not warrant this, only very rough, out-to-kill fights, which is why many shelter cats who have lived on the streets, unfortunately, have contracted it. An FIV+ cat is very unlikely to spread the virus to an FIV- cat while play-fighting.
  3. FIV is not a "sickness": There are no medications or special treatment of any kind required. THERE IS NO MEDICATION REQUIRED for the majority of their life. All FIV does is lower a cat's immune system, so he should not go outside. This is the only major stipulation of owning an FIV+ cat. He should be indoors, and if you notice something amiss, the cat should be taken to a vet sooner rather than later since they have low immune systems. Otherwise, nothing about owning an FIV+ cat takes extra effort or expense during their good years. They are just like normal cats.
