When arriving to MN we found Russie has a long list of medical issues.  We made the choice to have her live out the rest of her time in her foster home as a part of the Ruff Start Hospice Program

Hey everyone! My name is Russie.

Russie was turned into the shelter inTX after her owner died. She weighs almost 10 pounds. The family member that turned her in said, "She's really old, maybe 16," so she's a senior, but we're not really sure of her age.    Russie is a very sweet girl. She hasn't barked yet since I've had her!   Russie likes to sleep and will curl up beside you on the couch. She sleeps through the night in her dog bed. She likes food and will follow you around the kitchen while you cook. She gets along with other dogs, but doesn't play with them. She hasn't paid any attention to my cats. Russie seems to be hard of hearing, probably due to her age. Her little tongue sticks out when she's cute.  She's an adorable little girl.

An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal. Once we receive your application, a placement coordinator will be in contact with you as soon as possible.

Please check out our website, for more details and additional pictures on any of our animals!
All Ruff Start dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention (dogs) as well as heartworm tested (dogs).
Ruff Start Rescue is a foster-based rescue. Animals are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a facility where animals are kept.
