Hi! I’m Totina! Last winter I was out cruising neighborhoods looking for a warm place to hide out, and I found the perfect garage! It was warm AND the freezer was open. I was so hungry that I jumped right in and helped myself to some frozen pizza rolls! (thats how I got my name). The first time I met my foster mom she was pretty crazy. She searched the whole garage for that racoon who was eating out of the freezer, but I just sat there quietly and watched her until she finally realized the “racoon” she was looking for was just a sweet hungry kitty, ME!
I don’t like to be outside anymore, and I don’t eat pizza rolls anymore! But I do LOVE my food and my nice warm and safe house!! I spent so much of this winter hungry outside, I just LOVE to eat! Can you blame me! I like to follow my people around and make as much noise as possible until they feed me! I can’t meow, but I make a funny sound that sounds like I’m saying “MMM, Yeah” So first thing in the morning my foster mom asks me “are you hungry?” I say, “mmmm, Yeah!”.
I LOVE to be with my people and I like dogs too! The dogs think I’m silly when I try to snuggle with them, but they are pretty nice now that they are used to me. I like to be with my people all the time though. If they leave me alone in a room for too long, I must go find them! When my foster mom is running around the house I just follow her and wait patiently for her to sit down! When one of them finally does sit down to relax… Oooh, thats my favorite! I like to snuggle right up alongside of them and roll on my back. They give the best belly rubs, and I purr so loud it sounds like the neighbors are mowing their lawn!
Kids are pretty cool! There are lots of kids in my foster home! They give me my space and let me decide where I want to hang out and most of the time it is right next to one of them! I do not like to be carried around, and I don’t like when little kids come over and chase me or get too loud and crazy. I’m a small kitty and it can be scary for me. So if that happens, I like to find a safe spot where I can hide out but still see all the action. As soon as everyone calms down, I am right back in their lap purring away, begging for those belly rubs!!!
I was diagnosed with Feline Calicivirus, which can suppress my immune system. This can be really common to catch in hoarding situations. There is not a treatment, and this disease can flare up when my immune system is down. Right now I am being treated symptomatically and I will require a dedicated owner who can be my advocate for keeping me healthy. Because of my diagnosis, I will need to go to a home without other cats.
