Red, formerly named “Old Roy”, is the kind of dog that stops people on the street and say “now that’s a good lookin’ dawg!” with his earthy toned coat, Precious Moment’s eyes, and gentle giant stature. In his home, he’s calm, rarely barks, but out in the wild suburban wilderness, can be easily excited by other dogs, as he’s continuing on his journey of socialization. His history pre: Ruff Start Rescue and fostering is unknown; whomever adopts this classic muzzly giant must be dedicated to his training, curating a good schedule, active, and patient.

Due to Red’s previous behaviors, which manifest sparingly but do happen toward new people reaching towards him or coming in his space unexpectedly, his adopters must be intentional in his people and other-dog socializing to help Red understand the world around him. He would do well with an active person and or family (that is not made up of small children) and a calm living arrangement. Likely best to have no other pets in the home.

He loves people (once he has gotten familiar with them), Bully sticks, deep scratches, watching the abundant Plymouth wildlife scurry around, and daily walks are a must.  Red is a good boy looking for his constant, loving, patient forever home. He will be a loyal and best friend of his family or “chosen person.

An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal.
