Hello everybody! My name is Maine and I came a looong way to be with you. At 11 years old, I was dropped off at a shelter in Houston. Then the folks at RSR drove 1,000 miles just to rescue me! When I arrived at the shelter, it didn’t look like I had been taken care of for a long time. I needed a makeover and medical care from head to toe. Now I’m sparkling clean, well on the road to recovery, and ready to find my forever home!

Once you get to know me, I am a total sweetie. My hobbies include napping the stress of my old life away and nightly snuggle sessions with my foster mom & dad. I also enjoy frequent short & slow walks on the grass, where I can sniff everything in sight and bask in the sunshine! I’m living with two cats right now, and they don’t seem to bother me at all. I don’t mind seeing other dogs on my walks, either. I get more and more curious about them each day.

I’m an old boy, so sometimes my arthritis causes me pain & discomfort. I use joint supplements to help me feel better. I don’t have any teeth left after a recent dental, but I feel like a million bucks because of it! It doesn’t slow me down at all. I manage chronic nasal inflammation and enlarged heart with daily doses of Zyrtec and Furosemide. I’m all potty trained and use a pee pad at night sometimes, in case of emergency. Who says an old dog can’t learn new tricks?!

I would do best in a laid back household with someone who understands my little quirks. If this sounds like you, fill out an adoption form below! I can’t wait to meet you and be on my way to my forever home!

An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal.
